My Home State--the Sunshine State

Welcome to My Fabulous (Miami) Florida, my home state which offers locals and tourists more than a panhandle size of natural and cultural activities. The Sunshine State boasts a breadth of small-town charm, natural explorations, while Miami offers cosmopolitan energy, colorful history, and so much more.

As one of the original lifestyle bloggers in Miami going back to 2009, as I watch my city evolve with bitter sweet moments (the past disappearing, but new history-in-the-making) I knew I had to record it. Not just for readers, but mostly as my personal journal. Miami especially is quickly evolving and I want to capture every memory.

About me, your blogger

Born and raised in Titusville, FL (across the Indian River from the Kennedy Space Center), growing up I visited Disney World yearly, when it was the ONLY attraction in Orlando aside from Sea World. Reflecting back I'm grateful my family also ventured to unique attractions like Cypress Gardens, Weekee Watchee or bravely went swimming in freezing temperatures of spring waters. No video games or watching TV, my childhood was full of outdoor activity, connecting with nature and dance classes in the evenings. Ballet was in my blood just as it was for my mother for many years.  The dance was the art, the performing on stage was the thrill.

After graduating college in Baltimore, Maryland in business and spending a semester in Valencia, Spain, I longed to return to warmer weather and the exotic Hispanic culture. I love the food, the music, the beaches.

Miami turned from vacation destination to my new home. Yes I love my home city. There is so much to discover, absorb, relish, and remember.

Update: March 8, 2024; It's International Women's Day. I can't believe it's been 16 years that I started this blog. Loong before social media really existed. No Instagram, no TikTok. Hard to believe I am a pioneer lifestyle blogger and influencer. But I'm still here and having a great time.

Looking forward to new experiences and connecting with you my readers. Please feel free to leave a comment at the end of the post.  You may sign up via email to get notifications of new posts at the bottom of the page. Let's stay connected and fabulous together!
